Too soon, too young were my first thoughts after hearing the news. A devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Steve was, in many ways, larger than life. He was serious about his business but there was a softer, generous side many people never saw. And while I won’t be able to be there in person, I will be attending in spirit. What an awesome man Steve was. I can truly say that I am a better man for knowing him! His infectious smile and quick wit were always so refreshing. Steve was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back and if he didn't have a shirt to give, he would be sure and find you one! Truly one of a kind. It’s hard to convey how much he meant to me. I served him lunch 3/4 times a week for almost 20 years at Driftaway Cafe , but it was more than just that. He shared good advice with me, and good jokes, and many wonderful conversations. He was my friend. He fussed at me for not getting regular oil changes, gave me deer meat , and always asked about my family. I’m gonna miss him so very much but I’m grateful to have had him as a friend for as long as I did. My condolences to his entire family.

Mr. Roberts was my first boss upon returning home to Savannah back in 2016.
